Topic: Improving Outcomes for Families — How co-parenting apps can prevent families from returning to court and keep them on track for success

 

Agenda

  • Review relevant case types (i.e., high conflict, DV, order for protection) and typical parent behavior within each type.
  • Discuss privacy and security, and the results of the pilot project with the Hennepin County Family Court.
  • Review the OFW toolset for parents.
  • Analyze the interface and the ways that built-in rules create a framework for amicable communication in a variety of case types.
  • Demonstrate how the OFW Practitioner App supports the efforts of court-appointed professionals to oversee parent activity and intervene when necessary.
  • Examine court order and agreement examples including relevant appellate decisions.
  • Review how the OFW co-parenting app can help reduce coercive control and conflicting narratives which so often bring families back to court.
  • Examine court orders, agreements, and relevant appellate decisions.
  • Learn how family law practitioners may work with families to assess family needs utilizing these tools and promote successful outcomes. 

 

Speaker:  

Guiseppe Fricano (he/him/his) is based in Columbus, OH and provides practitioner and judicial education in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana for OurFamilyWizard. Guiseppe holds a BA in English Language & Literature from The Ohio State University. Prior to joining OurFamilyWizard, Guiseppe held roles in public library administration supporting youth and family success initiatives and government relations & advocacy, and managed business partnerships with the Cristo Rey Network. Outside of work, Guiseppe can be found enjoying live music, hiking, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
